Ford’s Future Includes More Electric Cars

According to Reuters, Alan Mulally, Ford’s CEO, said at the Wall Street ECO:nomics conference in Santa Barbara that in 10 to 12 years, we should expect to see a major portion of Ford’s portfolio move to electric vehicles. He also announced that we should see a significant improvement in the fuel efficiency in the internal combustion engine: “You’ll see more hybrids, but you will really see a lot more electric vehicles,” he said. He also added that Ford was committed to shift away from its reliance on light trucks so that fuel-efficient passenger cars dominate. (ED)
