Ford Introduces Its Fiesta Way in Advance in Canada

Ford of Canada held a very special program during the second week of September by inviting most of the country’s top automotive journalists to try out first hand its upcoming Fiesta subcompact. Ford of Canada had brought in some ten European Fiestas, all built in Holland, for a first evaluation. All the cars were five-door hatchback powered by a current 1.6L four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. When the car goes on sale in 2010 as a 2011 model, it will also be available as a four-door sedan. An optional automatic transmission will be included in the catalogue and probably the new EcoBoost engine. (ED)
