Monday, November 09, 2009 Ford and the CAW Negotiate
Ford Canada and the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) modified together the national collective agreement. This was done in order to improve the automaker’s competitive position in Canada and to maintain the jobs of the workers of the Oakville and Windsor plants, both in Ontario. A collaboration between the union and Ford was necessary to transition towards a leaner model that would ensure the company more stability in such turbulent economic times. (EB)
