Thursday, April 23, 2009 Fiat Could Become Number 2 in the World
If Fiat’s deal with Chrysler succeeds and if the Italian automaker finalises a deal with GM in Europe and Latin America, it could then become the world’s second biggest auto group after Toyota. Recent rumours want us to believe that Fiat could be forming an alliance with GM’s business in Europe and Latin America (the deal would not include Saab and Chevrolet’s European operations). Among the brands mentioned would be German based Opel and British based Vauxhall. (ED)
