Dollar Thrifty Chooses Ford as Its Main Supplier

The Dollar Thrifty Group had to choose another main supplier for its daily rental cars for 2010. In the past, Dollar Thrifty, which runs the Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental businesses, used mostly Chrysler products. This time, it has chosen Ford products for 34% of its vehicles. Nonetheless, Dollar Thrifty will still buy 30% of its cars from Chrysler, 20% from General Motors, and 6% from Nissan. The rest of the Dollar Thrifty fleet (composed of about 100,000 vehicles) will come from Hyundai, Kia, and other manufacturers. (ED)
