Chinese Car Maker Geely Eyeing Volvo

According to the Reuters news agency, China’s Geely Automotive has announced that it wants to bid for Ford Motor Co.’s Volvo Car Corp., thus becoming the first Chinese automaker to grab a foreign brand in the international automotive industry. Geely is a small manufacturer but taking possession of Volvo would give it the opportunity to access all the technology it wants in order to upgrade its own cars. Thus, Geely has to wait for Ford to make a decision of selling its Swedish brand, as an announcement should be made public in about a month. (ED)
