Chevrolet Sonic to start at $14,495 in Canada

Chevrolet will introduce the 2012 Sonic to Canada with an MSRP beginning at $14,495. Sonic comes, according to GM, with the most standard safety equipment in the sub-compact class, including 6 air bags (up to 10 available) and OnStar with Directions and Connections. Bluetooth, power door locks, remote keyless entry and Hill Hold Assist also are standard.

The Sonic delivers a 5.1 L/100km highway fuel consumption when paired with the 1.4L Turbo and six-speed manual transmission.

The Sonic is offered in two body styles: a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback. Each delivers outstanding rear-seat roominess and cargo space.

“The Sonic will further build on the Cruze's success in redefining what people can expect from Chevrolet,” said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of General Motors of Canada. “Sonic brings agility and a fun-to-drive feel that is rare in the small car segment, along with an unexpected level of standard equipment so that every customer will have the comforts and amenities they desire.”

The 2012 Sonic arrives in Chevrolet dealers in October in three models with two body styles. Prices will start at $14,495 for the sedan and $15,495 for the hatchback.
