Automobile Magazine names the Volkswagen GTI its Car of the Year

Popular American car publication Automobile Magazine has named the all-new sixth generation Volkswagen GTI as its 2010 Car of the Year. In the twenty years of the magazine’s history, this is the first time ever that the same brand wins the award twice. The 2010 GTI is a sporty compact car that is powered by a 2.0-litre DOHC turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops 200 horsepower and 207 lbs-ft of torque. The GTI can be ordered with the automated manual DSG (dual clutch) transmission of the conventional six-speed manual transmission. (ED)
