FORD

Ford, a Partner in Business

By : Éric Descarries

It might date back to more than a hundred years ago when it introduced its now legendary Model T, but as long as most observers can remember, the Ford Motor Company has always been of great help to business people, whether because of its trucks or its cars.

Nothing has changed! Ford is still around in 2009 with some of the most popular vehicles for commercial or professional use. As pointed out by Christine Hollander, Ford of Canada’s public relations spokesperson, its light trucks are probably the best example. Indeed, Ford’s newly redesigned F-150 is already among the most sought after business vehicle in Canada, as is the legendary E-Series commercial van.

On the car side of the business, for the longest time, Ford’s Taurus was “the” business car. It has been recently replaced by the more modern Fusion sedan which will shortly be available in a redesigned 2010 version, including the possibility of a hybrid-electric version. The Taurus? Expect to see a totally redesigned version of this bigger sedan soon.

And how can we forget the omnipresence of Ford’s conventional Crown Victoria, a favourite among police forces and the taxi industry. This car is made in Canada on the same assembly line on which the Lincoln Town Car—a car which is still the leader in the limousine industry—is built. How about the convertible Mustang, a favourite among daily rentals, or Ford’s mid-size trucks? Looking for vehicles for your business? Have a look at the Ford catalogue!

The very popular Ford Fusion is redesigned for 2010.

The legendary Lincoln Town Car remains the most popular business luxury sedan.

Ford’s E-Series commercial van is very popular among businesses.

The Ford F-Series is probably the most sought after pick-up on the market.
